Staff Picks: Young Adult Books to Preorder

Chains of Iron, Rule of Wolves, and Realm Breaker are all books coming out in 2021.
Cassandra Clare’s book Chain of Iron is available on March 2, 2021. Rule of Wolves by Leigh
Bardugo release date is March 30, 2021. And finally Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard is
coming out on May 4, 2021. These are all YA fantasy books that are available to pre-order at
Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

 

Chain of Iron (by Cassandra Clare)

Cassandra Clare’s new book Chain of Iron is available on March 2, 2021. Cassandra is
the best selling author of the Shadow Hunter Chronicles. Chain of Iron is the sequel to Chain of Gold. Chain of Gold is the first book in The Last Hours series, which is chronologically second in The Shadow Hunter Chronicles.

This book follows events that occurred in the London area in 1903, focusing on the residents of the London Institute. According to Barnes and Noble in Chain of Iron “a serial murderer is targeting the Shadowhunters of London, killing under cover of darkness, then vanishing without a trace. Together with the Merry Thieves, Cordelia, James, and Lucie must follow the trail of the knife-wielding killer through the city’s most dangerous streets. All the while, each is keeping a shocking secret: Lucie, that she plans to raise Jesse from the dead; Cordelia, that she has sworn a dangerous oath of loyalty to a mysterious power; and James, that he is being drawn further each night into the dark web of his grandfather, the arch-demon Belial. Chain of Iron is a fantasy novel recommended for ages 14-18. If you like Lore by Alexandra Bracken or King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo you will like this book.

 

Rule of Wolves (by Leigh Bardugo)

Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo is apart of the King of Scars Duo-logy Series as the second book. According to Good Reads this is what the book is about “The Demon King. Rule of Wolves release date is March 30, 2021. Leigh Bardugo has written at least 13 books. To read her books the usual reading order is the Shadow & Bone trilogy, then the Six of Crows duo-logy, and last the King of Scars tri/duo-logy. This book is a YA fantasy novel recommended for ages 12+.

 

Realm Breaker (by Victoria Aveyard)

Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard, bestseller of the Red Queen series. Realm Breaker is expected to release on May 4, 2021. This is a YA fantasy series recommended for ages 13+.
